SIXTH follow up meeting of ARBIT´s project

Last Tuesday, September 6, the 6th meeting of partners for the follow-up of the ARBIT project took place online.

This initiative, co-funded by the European Commission, seeks to improve the access and participation of students with autism and intellectual disabilities in formal and non-formal education. Through the use of Augmented Reality, he wants to promote the development of certain basic skills for social and communication development; such as body schema, joint attention, and imitation.

The project coordinator, the University of Valencia together with the EPHE University and the National Autism and Technology Foundation (ADAPTA) communicated to the partners some of the most relevant aspects to take into account for the start of the implementation of the project.

Later on, each partner (Lutin Userlab, Konya Il Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü, Karatay Özel Eğitim Uygulama Okulu, Association Autism, Autismo Ávila, CFIE Ávila and Castilla-Leon Autism Federation) shared the relevant issues of their preparation for the start-up of the intervention phase. All of them, expressed their satisfaction with the advances made to date, emphasizing their interest in beginning with direct intervention on kids with ASD, and to be able to verify how augmented reality can improve their quality of live through the joint attention, pointing and imitation training.

Other methodological aspects of the project, and organizational issues of the meeting to be held in Paris in November, were also discussed.
