Association Autism

The Association Autism was founded in May 2003 by parents of children and young people with autism as a non-profit organization for carrying out public benefit activities. Its main goal is to protect the social and civil rights of children, young people and adults with special needs and their families, to help overcome the social isolation and effective social integration of such children, young people and adults, to make their problems public. The Association Autism disseminates information about educational and health services, relief, benefits and therapies for children, adolescents, and young people with autism.

The main activities that the Association develops include opening centеrs for children and youth with special needs, organizing daily activities and specialized training, conducting specialized training for parents, family members, caregivers educators and teachers of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders, mobilizing the attention of the state, non-governmental organizations, and civil society to the problems of children and adolescents with autism.

It acts as a support group for parents of people with autism and as a contact point for parents of newly diagnosed children, adolescents, and young people with autism.

So far, the Association Autism has opened two services for children and adults with autism, and the age of clients benefiting from specialized work is between 3 and 43 years of age.

The Association Autism is a collective member of the Bulgarian Association of People with Intellectual Disabilities (BAPID).
