ADAPTA FOUNDATION

Adapta Foundation is an organization committed to the development and testing of innovative technologies for ASD.


ADAPTA FOUNDATION was created in 2007 with the following aims included in its statutes:


  1. The improvement of the quality of life of individuals with autism and/or learning difficulties, supporting the creation of technological tools aimed at the education, communication and/or selfdetermination of people with this condition, the management of centres or services where these people are looked after, and the training of the professionals who work with them.

  2. To promote scientific research about the qualities, potential and effective benefits of these technologies in the life of individuals with autism and/or learning difficulties.

  3. Cooperation with developing countries in relation to the first two aims.

Adapta Foundation has been working on IT for ASD for more than ten years and have created and spread a number of technological solutions for people with autism.

During its first 10 years of life, ADAPTA FOUNDATION has relied on a small team (from 1 to 5 members) which has developed and participated in a number of IT projects on Autism,including:


  • Research on person-technology matching in the area of Apps and Autism, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports with two grants for the academic course 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

  • Speaking with art, in collaboration with UVEG and the Argadini Association, Funded by ORANGE FOUNDATION Spain.

  • Personal Assistance in Autism Spectrum Disorders, in collaboration of AUTISMO AVILA (partner of ARBIT) and funded by La Caixa Foundation, the year 2015.

  • Wearables and other gadgets for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports with a grant for the academic year 2017- 2018.

  • IVRAP: «Immersive Virtual Reality as a Tool for Autistic Pupils and During its first 10 years of life, ADAPTA FOUNDATION has relied on a small team (from 1 to 5 members) which has developed and participated in a number of IT projects on Autism, including:

Also during this period, ADAPTA FOUNDATION has reached agreements with UVEG (partner of ARBIT) and Orange Foundation Spain in order to distribute tools created by UVEG through a number of projects, including:

    • PICTOGRAM ROOM (videogames for Kinect): www.pictogramas.org, the precursor of ARBIT project

    • SUPPORTIVE EYES (person-centred planning coordination and training): www.miradasdeapoyo.org

    • ADAPTA FOUNDATION has been the coordinating organisation of the three editions of the International Conference on Innovative Technologies for Autism Spectrum Disorders (http://www.itasd.org) with the collaboration and funding of Orange Foundation France, Orange Foundation Spain and Autism Speaks.
