The second multiplier event of the Arbit project was held in Avila

Avila (Spain) hosted the second multiplier event of the Arbit Project on 25 May 2023. This event was attended by more than 100 people from different schools and institutions in the province of Avila.

The opening was made by Ana González, Director of the Centre for Teacher Training and Educational Innovation of Ávila. After the opening, Gerardo Herrera, researcher at IRTIC of the University of Valencia and President of Autismo Ávila, explained the objectives of the Erasmus + Arbit Project.

Rocio Arroyo (Autismo Avila) has analysed in her presentation, the incidence and the support services in the educational field offered by the Association Autismo Avila in the province. Afterwards, Jacqueline Nadel from Lutin Lab has intervened, explaining the importance of imitation and its importance in the development in autism.

After this presentation, the participants took a break for lunch. This was followed by a series of tests of the Pictogram Room software developed for the project. Then, it has been the turn for Ana López (Federación Autismo Castilla y León), who has exposed the services for the educational attention received by the autism collective in Castilla y León.

Patricia Pérez, from the Adapta Foundation, explained the results of the impact of the Pictogram Room tool on the skills of body awareness, joint attention and imitation of 23 students with ASD from Spain, Bulgaria and Turkey, who have participated in the project. The last presentation of the event was given by Arturo López, from Autismo Ávila, who spoke about the application of the software in the school context and in teacher training.

Finally, the representatives of the partner organisations answered the questions raised by the participants.
